Recently announced BlackBerry Q20 Classic smartphone may unveil next month by BlackBerry at FairFax Financial Holdings meeting on April 9th, 2014. Prem Watsa, CEO at FairFax Financial Holdings & also the largest shareholder in BlackBerry, released his company’s annual shareholders letter last night where he talks so much about BlackBerry & his actions related to it. We have seen Watsa’s keen interest towards BlackBerry in the past 6 months including a try to take-in the smartphone giants into private. But eventually he invested in billions to keep the motion at BlackBerry going & placing a new leader- John Chen.

Prem Watsa:

“As in the past few years, we will have booths which provide information on our insurance operations and some of our non-insurance investments,.., BlackBerry (I may even be able to convince John Chen to raffle a couple of BlackBerry Classics (the Q20) at his booth),”

John Chen expects to launch the next QWERTY smartphone around August-September time frame, as told to Bloomberg last week. Revealing it as soon as next month sounds very non-BlackBerry but after watching the pace of the new chief, this is a whole new company and after knowing the period of development of BlackBerry Z3 (just 3 months), it is not impossible to expect the Classic Q20 appearance next month.
