Guyz, BlackBerry Protect does work in India. I was using (still have) 9700 & updated it to OS.6, but it screwed up the whole memory. Then I got a 9780 & enabled BB Protect. A week later, I lost my 9780 but still had 9700 & loaded BB protect, luckily retrieved all of my data.
Now am only hoping that the finder/thief turns it on for once. So, as to find the location. (fingers-crossed).
Had to get a new 9780, but the BB Protect runs only on 1 device, with same ID. 🙁
Track the thief and let us know the story

@Manish – Really sorry to hear you have lost your BB. First tell me did u have bb protect in your phone (as far as I know only BB OS 6 supports BB PROTECT) … and did u have an account in BB protect . If you had then go to http://www.blackberry.com/select/protect/login_redirect.shtml . Then login with ur user ID and password . Then the page will ask you what to do … track it ? or lock it?

@rohit sorry u can’t update OS 6 on curve 8520 … But u can update ur blackberry to curve 9300 which has OS 6

I lost my BB 9300 with OS 6 and I have not installed BB Protect. Is it possible to remotely install and then try to trace its location. Otherwise, is there any other way that I can trace it.
