Thought the BlackBerry PlayBook was all you’re going to get? The BBin team had the privelage of attending Research In Motion’s Blackberry Playbook launch party in Chicago, Illinois. Held at Lumen in heart of Chicagos Fulton Market district, the place was bumping with RIM associates, food and drinks, and Blackberry enthusiasts. Best of all, we had DJ Avicci spinning some amazing
tracks.
Recently, RIM held a contest on Twitter asking their followers to tweet a reason why they should be invited to Playbook Chicago’s launch party by hashtag, #PlayBookCHI with the opportunity to bring three guests and win a Playbook. Each attendee received their very own drawstring Blackberry bag, t-shirt and shades. The Playbook was reserved for the contest winner.
Credit must be given to RIM for organizing such an amazing party! Lumen was dressed up BlackBerry style with a station with numerous PlayBooks and a RIM associate available to navigate you through the tablet. There was another station with Doodle Blast game and Need for Speed Undercover where you could play around with these third party apps present on the BlackBerry Playbook.
We also had the honor of finally meeting Cindy Dingethal, Social Media Manager at RIM, Douglas Soltys, Blackberry blog’s official manager, and Mitchell Steiman, Social Media Community at RIM. Blackberry fans got the chance to unwind through the night while mingling with other smartphone users and having extra fun at the photobooth.
We must say, RIM really knows how to throw a party. It was a good night filled with lots of goodies – our most favorite being our new 16 GB BlackBerry PlayBook.
