Here you go! A new Indian application which is by far the best. TV on the Go stream LIVE television channels right on your BlackBerry PlayBook. The app is specifically made for Indian users & cannot be accessed abroad. It is one of the applications that comes pre-installed on the tablet or can directly be downloaded from App World for free. Streaming is done over internet so you need to have a connection either be a WiFi or a smartphone to tether.
The UI is very simple to use & It’s kind of similar to QNX which is a good move. The main screen is as you can see above categorized into different sections. As you go into different categories or genres, you will find channel listings in middle sliding-dock as seen on PlayBook mainscreen.
What’s new – Shows latest videos in the application.
Live TV – The name says it all. There are around 30 local channels distributed to several sub-categories namely Entertainment, Infotainment, Music & News in various languages. These channels run with a 2-3mins delay on satellite! Pretty slick isn’t it? 😉
VOD(Video On Demand) – Here you can find highlights of several hit shows achieved according to respective channels. No more worries & waiting for recast. You can sit back and watch them whenever you feel like.
Movies – Want to spend a matinee time with your family on weekends? Just plug-in PlayBook to your television & stream complete movies. There are plenty Bollywood titles available but we hope its updated regularly & even add Hollywood sections too.
Favorites – You can add your favorite channels & can access directly later.
Program List – This is a great feature which guides you to all upcoming shows throughout the week! Users can also schedule reminders for their favorite shows 😉
Overall, TV on the Go is one fantastic app. Its highly recommended to all PlayBook owners in India & Its definitely listed in our top 10 apps for BlackBerry PlayBook.
