Keeping it simplest, the left side of device contains a micro-USB port for charging & desktop sync along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the right hand side we get up & down volume rocker adding a mute/pause key in middle. Lastly, a convenience key is placed beneath which is set as camera open/shutter by default.

Top & Bottom

The lock/unlock button is placed on middle top unlike the corners. Result is positive as it avoids accidental functioning when dropping in pcoket. At the bottom of the device we find 2 connectors used by docking chargers. They are placed on a thin strip of high quality plastic base that doesn’t seems visible or bring any downgrade remark. Phone’s microphone is also spotted below the front panel.

Camera

Capture your moments with amazing 720p HD videos with upgraded camera & rich mic. With image stabilizer the picture quality sets Bold 9900 in one of best camera holding smartphones. The camera is 5 megapixel with fixed focus; that means no sharp macro shots can be captured. According to RIM the feature lacks due to compression of phone to 10.5mm thick. The battery door is simply gorgeous! Made with hard plastic with shiny design along BlackBerry logo feels classy. Well its not over yet! The door has inbuilt NFC(Near Field Communication) antenna which will be a useful feature in India in coming years. The speaker outlet is also placed on cover opening producing rich sound experience but is not the loudest out there. Moving to battery, its a 1230 mAh powered, less compared to old Berrys but impresses with performance. It lasted 18-20hrs to go down to SOS which is nominal on any smartphone. (Tested: OS 7.0.0.261)
