BlackBerry PlayBook Beta OS 2.1.0.840 Now Available!

RIM continues to roll out BlackBerry PlayBook OS Beta releases for developers ahead of the final consumer version. This new v2.1.0.840 arrived with no change logs but we know there’s something hidden to be revealed. Just enter your PlayBook PIN to get this update but be sure to read warning & note mentioned below before proceeding.

Warning: Only proceed with this upgrade if you are a developer that needs to test applications on BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1.0.840. This upgrade supports applications developed using the following platforms: BlackBerry Native SDK 2.x or earlier, BlackBerry WebWorks, BlackBerry Tablet SDK for Adobe AIR 2.x or earlier.

Note: After installing BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 you will not be able to backup and restore data back to 2.0.x. Apps downloaded or purchased from App World while using BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1 may no longer work on other versions of the BlackBerry PlayBook OS. Not all apps which work on OS 2.0.x will work on BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.1.
