ReFocus Labs just launched ARKick for BlackBerry 10. ARKick is the world’s first contextual Augmented Reality app. It helps users find the best places around them using factors like weather, time, temperature and also popular personalized places through facebook and foursquare. Apart from showing places the user can get information like time to reach the place, directions in a map view, an option to call, ratings and other essential information. ARKick is now available on BlackBerry 10 for Rs. 150 and will be coming to iOS and Android in the coming months.
Today ReFocus Labs launches ARKick; a leading contextual augmented reality app for the BlackBerry® 10 platform. It provides BlackBerry 10 customers with information pertaining to relevant places using contextual filters in an Augmented Reality view.
ARKick helps customers find the best places around them using contextual factors like weather, time, temperature and popular personalized places through social networks. Apart from showing places, the customer can also get information including directions, integrated calling, ratings and anticipated arrival times to each destination.
ARKick has been highly optimized so that it can function even on a 2G network. It has been developed using hybrid technologies (Cascades and HTML5) to deliver high performance.
“The last decade has been all about social apps, with ARKick we are trying to bridge the user’s social and physical contextual world to showcase the real power of mobile computing,” said Shashwat Pradhan the co-founder of ReFocus Labs.
ARKick will also be coming to other platforms later this year.
