Camera Test: BlackBerry Classic vs BlackBerry Q10

The upcoming BlackBerry Classic is a successor model to BlackBerry Q10 along the treats of highly popular Bold series. It looks a lot like legacy devices with that trackpad with other 4 hotkeys but runs the latest BlackBerry 10.3 OS. After posting several pictures of the device itself, the lucky Chinese owner posts a quick camera comparison photos of the Classic against the Q10.

First, we have the BlackBerry Q10 result of a beautiful orange flower. The camera is pretty decent for a mobile phone but we need more & more don’t we? The Q10’s camera was 8 megapixel but megapixel doesn’t really matters when it comes to quality which actually depends on the lens applied. In this photo, the f/2.2 lens does a pretty good job giving a decent depth of field & colors but shadows are a bit grainy.

In the below Classic’s image, you will find the subject more clear & crisp with almost no grain. The orange flower may look pale in comparison but the uploader says that this color is more realistic (though we believe he didn’t properly focused the flower). Also, the green plant looks more vibrant & lively in comparison to the Q10’s photo. Unfortunately, we still don’t know much about the megapixel rate of this camera but can confirm the upgrade in lens for better picture results.

  1. The low light performance of Q10 and Z30 are so bad that it is practically useless whenever there is a shadow in the picture. It is not that the details are visible, but I suspect there is no post processing of the images. I sincerely hope that in classic BlackBerry have corrected these nagging issues.

The lackluster camera and the occasional double typing are the only negatives I can think about Q10.

Oh, maybe a little bit screen real estate too.. :D.
