BlackBerry seeks growth in India with recent partnership with Samsung

The recent partnership between the two mobile giants BlackBerry & Samsung is a “win-win”  deal for both the companies. This powerful partnership allows both vendors to sell each other’s mobile security technology along with six other new services from BlackBerry that include BES 12, WorkLife, Enterprise Identity, VPN Authentication, BBM Meetings and Secure Voice Solutions.

“In the BYOD space, a lot of Android devices are coming, of which a majority of devices happen to be made by Samsung, … We are playing security trump card and counting majorly on BES 12 in the new financial year.”

Sunil Lalvani – Blackberry India’s managing director
The adoption rate of BlackBerry Enterprise Server in India is solid and the company is hoping increased numbers with all new flagship BES 12 offering along with other services will help BlackBerry solidify its presence in the Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) segment in India and help it consolidate its leadership position in the $1.8 billion (about Rs 11,000 crore).

The Canadian smartphone and software company is yet to release another smartphone of 2014 – BlackBerry Classic on 17th of this month. “The BlackBerry Classic is based on customer feedback. A lot of qwerty loyalists have come back to us. The device is being launched on December 17 globally. We will launch the device in India soon,” Lalvani said.
