When everyone asked BlackBerry CEO John Chen about the rumor on upcoming BlackBerry smartphone running Android OS, he said he will if he can secure the platform as good as BlackBerry. Following to tons of rumors lately, we finally have some official action regarding Android-BlackBerry pairing.
According to TheDomains, BlackBerry registered two new domains – AndroidSecured.com and AndroidSecured.net yesterday. Does this mean the company will drop BlackBerry 10 and go for Android? Not really. But it definitely leaks the info of either BlackBerry 10 receiving Google Services or/and BlackBerry smartphones running Android. We still wait for BlackBerry to announce official statement on this story so stay tuned for all the latest updates.

Dumb question: Assuming BlackBerry has found a way to secure Android, has BlackBerry patented it? If so, how easily can other companies patent security on Android? Does BlackBerry have a patent monopoly on Secure Android? Note that the term “Secure Android” is really similar to John Chen’s terminology, “Secure Linux”. Does Samsung back this? Will it work in India and Asia? Will it support security in healthcare? The 1997 sci-fi movie, Gattaca, pictures why security is necessary in healthcare. And when will BlackBerry address the above questions? Does the world need Secure Android?
