Is Google Services finally coming to BlackBerry 10? John Chen likes the idea

Back in April, we shared our thoughts on how Google services could be BlackBerry’s best trick to eliminate the app gap and regain market share in smartphone industry. On the other hand, rumors are on peak about upcoming BlackBerry smartphones to get powered by Android OS but neither side has been confirmed yet. But, John Chen’s latest (re)Tweet puts a weight on Google Services licensing deal for BlackBerry 10.

The lack of apps on BlackBerry 10 platform is the only drawback according to every tech expert. However, getting Google Services will patch this problem on the whole. Licensing Google Services isn’t as easy as it sounds but after partnering with Google to put security on Android, this deal may come as a return help from Google and could happen as soon as the next BlackBerry 10.3.3 OS update.

  1. Although I am not opposed to an Android based BlackBerry, I’d rather see Google Services on the device. The BlackBerry 10 OS is much better and I love using my BlackBerry device for productivity! To me let the consumer choose. It is not a bad idea to have more than one option available, but I choose BlackBerry 10!

  2. I really don’t believe this, It’s going to be true. blackberry is finally going to bring in Google play service. Hope it happens and I’m damn sure Blackberry will never regret this initiative. This step will be a boom to Blackberry production and acceptance in worldwide.

Let’s see if there is some official announcement regarding such inclusion from John Chen or any Blackberry official team.

  3. If blackberry joins with google, the present price of the devices is high. I believed that blackberry will something different than others so that I bought z30.but I am not fullfilled.let me watch what they are doing different from other android supported devices.
