Qualcomm promises 5hrs of battery life in just 5mins charge!

The leading mobile chipset producers Qualcomm has announced its new Snapdragon 835 processor today! With delivering processors to hundreds of manufacturers till date, Qualcomm enhances several features in this new chip to lead its position against competitors. The most prominent offering along other processing boosts is the new Quick Charge 4.0 technology which promises to deliver 5hrs of battery in just 5mins of charge!

Qualcomm’s Quick Charge module has been highly acclaimed in the industry especially after the introduction of USB type-C port and its third generation of Quick Charge technology named Quick Charge 3.0 in many devices last year. Now with Quick Charge 4.0, it not only charges your device 20% faster but also maintains 5% cooling and 30% more efficiency than its predecessor.

Will this all increase the possibility to explode more phones? Not likely, says Qualcomm. Both the smartphone and its power adapter will feature protections against higher temperatures, currents and voltage. Qualcomm added that it is adding an extra layer of protection “to help prevent battery over-charging and regulate current throughout every charge cycle”.  Sensors and monitors will be put in the chip, battery and PMIC for keeping things cool.
