After Facebook, BlackBerry files patent litigation against Snap

As you may know, BlackBerry (formerly known as RIM) are the original smartphone inventors; resulted in the success to enhanced pager machines in early 2000s. Later in 2006, the company launched BBM – the most advanced instant messaging platform which now is lacking behind many new messengers having all its features as the base. Moving ahead, better late than never, BlackBerry is finally chasing behind its competitors filing lawsuits by holding patent rights.

In March, BlackBerry filed suit against Facebook for its patent litigation on Fb Messenger, WhatsApp & also Instagram for some instance. And today, Snap is pulled into the drama for the same. Will patents get Blackberry rewarded? Let’s wait and find out.

  1. Eagerly waiting to see this company on the top position again. No doubt BBM is the best messenger i have ever used but unfortunately there are very few using it these days, I hope exercising patent rights will help BB in this.
